The double materiality analysis was also an essential step towards CSRD compliance for Vandemoortele. Together with the company, we mapped the impact of its activities on people and the environment in 2023, and identified the relevant ESG risks and opportunities. Based on this, we drew up the company’s 2030 sustainability strategy.

The Integrated Report 2024 builds on that strategy. We guided Vandemoortele from A to Z, and developed the communication assets, such as the press release and teaser video to present the company’s efforts to all stakeholders.

For the first time, a full limited assurance was performed on the double materiality analysis and the sustainability information. That compulsory audit should ensure the objectivity and accuracy of the report, and bring its quality to the same level as that of the annual financial report.

The level of detail mandated by the CSRD requires a thoughtful and structured approach. And it’s for this reason that we always work towards compliance in a step-by-step manner; not just for Vandemoortele, but also for other customers. Vandemoortele has shown itself to take on a leading role: since the 2020 report, the food company has raised the bar every year. The company received EcoVadis’ prestigious Platinum rating in 2024, further confirming that it is on track to achieve its sustainablility ambitions by 2030.
